Metalworking Workshops: easy and reliable dedusting with WAMAIR® Stand Alone PR and RECOFIL™ Systems

WAMAIR® Stand-Alone dust collector with ducting, WAM Industriale

Metalworking and carpentry workshops often face significant challenges in managing dust and fume extraction processes efficiently. These challenges typically include:

  • High variability in the characteristics of fumes and dust, including fine and potentially hazardous particles
  • Continuous and highly demanding production processes
  • Large volumes of dust generated during operation

As a result, operators frequently encounter:

  • Inconsistent filtration performance
  • Increased maintenance requirements
  • Greater risks to workplace safety and environmental compliance

The key challenge is therefore ensuring reliable dust control and stable filtration performance across the entire production process.

To address these requirements, WAMGROUP offers an integrated solution combining the WAMAIR® Stand-Alone PR dust collector with the RECOFIL™ dust recovery system. Together, these technologies provide:

  • High-efficiency filtration for demanding industrial applications
  • Consistent airflow management and process stability
  • Automatic dust recovery and handling without interrupting production operations

The result is a complete dust collection and recovery solution that enhances operational reliability, improves workplace safety and reduces maintenance requirements, even in the most demanding workshop environments.

WAMAIR® Stand-Alone PR: high-efficiency filtration for industrial workshops

Designed specifically for welding, cutting and surface-finishing applications, WAMAIR® Stand-Alone PR provides efficient and reliable filtration for demanding industrial environments. Key features include:

  • Nano-fibre filter media certified ePM1 according to ISO 16890 — Resulting in a significant emission reduction
  • Antistatic filter medium with flame-retardant treatment in accordance with DIN 53438. This reduces the risk of flame spread should sparks enter the system (**)
  • Airflow capacities up to 22,000 m³/h — Flexibility in managing even larger plants
  • Differential pressure monitoring and automation integration
  • Power supply panel and spark protection system available on request

The result is improved air quality, stable filtration performance and reduced maintenance requirements.

(**) Note on the PR flame-retardant treatment

The PR flame-retardant treatment helps prevent the flames from spreading should sparks come into contact with the filter elements. However, this system does not prevent fire and does not replace upstream fire protection systems (such as the spark protection system).

The cause of a fire is ALWAYS to be found in the process and NEVER in the filter. Consequently, the filter is unable to prevent or extinguish a fire once it has spread. It can only slow it down.

Effective dust collection does not end with filtration. RECOFIL™ enables the automatic recovery of dust collected inside filter hoppers without interrupting extraction operations. Combined with RECOMEC™ control units and EASYFILL™ big-bag filling stations, the system creates a fully integrated dust handling solution. Benefits include:

  • High reliability thanks to its robust design.
  • Continuous operation without production interruptions
  • Improved operator safety — Thanks to the elimination of interventions and manual operations
  • High filtration efficiency thanks to the polyTUBE filter installed on top of the EASYFILL
  • Potential recovery and recycling of collected dust
  • Lower operating costs through efficient compressed-air usage
  • Compact, modular solution capable of managing multiple dust extraction stations simultaneously
