Three functions, one valve: introducing the VPM Multi-Choke

At WAMGROUP's headquarters, the Bulk Dischargers Division has established a dedicated test station designed to analyse and validate bulk material handling processes under real operating conditions.

The facility integrates a complete handling system comprising an SBB ADS Bulk Bag Discharger, vertical screw conveyors and an RBB FIBC Filling System, creating a continuous process cycle specifically developed for application testing using customers' materials.

A practical approach to bulk material handling challenges

The handling of powders and granular materials often presents challenges related to flowability, which can vary considerably according to particle size, bulk density, moisture content and material cohesiveness. Even materials belonging to the same industrial sector may exhibit significantly different behaviour during discharge, conveying and filling operations.

To support customers in selecting the most appropriate solution, WAMGROUP offers the opportunity to perform dedicated application tests at its headquarters. Customers can supply material samples or complete bulk bags, allowing the Division's specialists to evaluate actual product behaviour and verify system performance under realistic operating conditions.

The test station enables detailed assessment of several critical process parameters, including:

  • Material flow behaviour during discharge
  • Extraction continuity and cycle times
  • Potential bridging and rat-holing phenomena
  • Conveying performance through screw conveyors
  • Filling efficiency and accuracy
  • Overall process integration and system reliability

A complete material handling system

The test installation includes:

  • SBB ADS Bulk Bag Discharger
  • Screw conveyors for controlled material transfer
  • RBB FIBC Filling System

This configuration makes it possible to simulate a complete material handling cycle, from bulk bag emptying through to subsequent refilling.

Particular attention has been given to system flexibility, enabling testing of a wide range of materials across multiple industries, including food processing, construction materials, chemicals and industrial minerals.

Supporting customers before installation

Beyond its technical capabilities, the test station represents a valuable engineering and application support tool for both customers and WAMGROUP's international sales network.

Validating material behaviour before installation offers several important advantages:

  • Reduced commissioning risks
  • Optimised equipment selection
  • Improved process reliability
  • Lower likelihood of unplanned downtime
  • Greater confidence in the proposed solution

Customers are also invited to attend testing activities alongside WAMGROUP's technical specialists. This collaborative approach facilitates a deeper understanding of application requirements and enables the development of solutions tailored to specific process needs.

Engineering expertise applied to real-world applications

With the introduction of this dedicated test station, the Bulk Dischargers Division further strengthens WAMGROUP's commitment to providing not only equipment, but also comprehensive application expertise and process support.

By combining engineering know-how with practical testing under real operating conditions, WAMGROUP helps customers make informed decisions and achieve reliable, high-performance bulk material handling solutions for increasingly demanding industrial applications.
